We support PMI’s 2022 Hours for Impact initiative where we have committed to assisting local organizations in executing their projects

Our team also volunteers to help organize events in their technical and personal circles, most recently the PMI’s 2022 Revelations Symposium.

We are always looking for additional causes to support, from river and lake cleanups to teaching and volunteer opportunities to many others.

GoC - Support for Rideau Falls De-Icing System - PM & Execution

Description de projet

PWSGC mandated Equinox Construction Services (ECS) to carry out In-Services Support Services, including inspections, deficiency correction, start-up and shut-down procedures, and maintenance of the de-icing system within the Rideau Falls Dam complex. The Dam complex uses stoplogs to manually control the water level on the Rideau Canal and this location has a considerable ice build up during the winter months.

The nature of the work provided by ECS consisted of managing the multi-year contract and various Task Authorizations (maintenance, upgrades and alterations), managing the specialty contractors, updating existing drawings of the de-icing system to include support locations and identifying points of interest for further NDT, annual inspection, cleaning and maintenance of the de-icing system, ultrasonic thickness gauging to monitor points of interest for corrosion, and assistance with system start up and shut down during the period of operation.

The annual inspections, maintenance, system start-ups, shut downs and nitrogen purging, as well as the Ultrasonic thickness gauging included support and coordination, working in all specialized trades and elaborating a detailed report.
